Hello to everyone! This is my first time to post on my new Blog and I'm so excited to start using this media. Please, don't judge me if my grammar, punctuation or wrong word choice. I want this to be fun and inspiring for people.
I had a great FB chat with one of my good friends today. It is something that we all should remember and be excited about going into 2017. I want everyone to remember that your whole life is preparing you for now and future activities. Each one of my experiences has helped develop me into what I am today.
I'm so lucky to have a strong faith in God which has helped me in taking risk. I don't consider many of them risk just a different path but each one of those path was a building block. For example, I had never had a desire to be in consulting until one of my best friends suggested I try it. So I did. I remember thinking I had no idea what to expect and it was not a "traditional" consulting position. It was to be a Resource Manager and lead a PMO/Project Management stream in the consulting firm. However, I learned more about business working for that firm than I had learned in years working in Corporate America. It was my first time to get to experience what companies do for marketing and sales. Additional, I got the chance to learn Salesforce and write my first article for LinkedIn. I was part of an amazing team that was building a Strategic Data Management tool. My decision to leave that company was difficult but I was presented with another great opportunity to grow. Unfortunately, the company I went was not a good experience professionally but I was able to learn more about people, how they work and gain some fantastic friends.
Because one of my new great friends came from that disappointing job, I have been able to grow and share experiences with him. Together we have great plans for 2017 and beyond.
Finally, I realized and continue to share that each one of those stepping stones are building us. If I didn't get the opportunity to work at the consulting firm then I would not understand the sales cycle as much. If I did not work for the disappointing company then I would not have been able to learn about the importance of P&L reports.
I just completed a Social Marketing class due to me feeling like I did not have a good understanding of this strategy for marketing. I did it for my businesses that I currently own today but I'm sure that some day soon this will be very valuable in other areas that I am not able to dream of today.
So here is to living, loving, learning life and a fabulous 2017!
